CV (PDF)

I am a computational astrophysicist studying star clusters, planetary systems, and free-floating planets with direct N-body simulations. I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut, Zentrum fuer Astronomie, Heidelberg University.

My current work covers the DRAGON simulation series, planetary systems in star clusters, and NBODY6++GPU development. Most of it comes back to one question: what changes when planets, discs, stars, and compact objects evolve inside a crowded stellar system?

What I'm doing

  • Star cluster dynamics

Direct N-body modelling of globular clusters, nuclear star clusters, and open clusters.

  • Planetary systems

Dynamical stability of planets, debris discs, comets, and host-star orbits in dense stellar environments.

  • High performance computing

GPU-accelerated astrophysical simulations, large simulation analysis, and reproducible research workflows.

  • Scientific software

Open-source development and code administration for NBODY6++GPU and related simulation tools.

Talks

  • AI Agents for Astronomical Research

    · Group meeting, Astronomisches Rechen-Institut, Heidelberg

AI agents are language models that can read files, run code and query archives on their own. Where do they already do real research work, and where do they still fail? Why does the same model do far more as an agent than in a web chat? How do you brief one, and where does the human check belong? The slides include two recorded demos: checking references against NASA ADS, and analysing an N-body run on JUPITER.
